Preparation is keep to every move. In the aspect of switching your utilities this is especially important. Your Light, Gas, and Internet providers will be much easier to deal with, when you are not hastening them to accommodate a last minute request. Giving them at least two weeks notice can save everyone the hassell of a bad customer experience.
A few points to remember while talking to Customer Service:
- Arrange for a final reading of the water, gas, and electric. Do so sooner than later
- Tell them where you are moving, So they can mail you final bill
- Make sure you get whats due!!! If you have accrued a credit, make sure they pay you! Moving has costs, and one of them should not be a positive balance left behind. (Example: Phone Bill & Envelopes)
- These tips only work if you use them, Don’t neglect what you already know. Never stop learning!
